Testing Grounds will open its doors this weekend for an Open Studio like no other. Spread across the Queen Victoria Market precinct, artists residing at Testing Grounds Emporium (Lv.1 and 2) and the Creative Development Sheds (F Shed 23 & 27) will be showcasing their work for you to engage with.
Testing Grounds Emporium: Lv.1 – SADGOLDFISH & Co. are using the space to rehearse and refine a new theatrical work entitled Medea was a MILF. Using the space as a rehearsal floor, a workbench and a writing room.
Testing Grounds Emporium: Outside / Lv.2 – Through observing and gathering materials on location, Lilly and Finn (One / One) engage in a dialogue between a site and its inhabitants. Their site-specific process invites audiences to inadvertently participate in the art-making process- gleefully disrupting daily routines and opening doors to creativity through everyday action
Creative Development Shed F23 – Dirt Artlab have made a compost church and have offered people access to the divine experience of decomposition as an alternative to growth.
Creative Development Shed F26 – Collective Territories explore the overlapping boundaries between architecture, art, and ecology. Their projects span scales and typologies, from farm to gallery to site responsive installation. Their practice involves listening closely – to the diverse voices of clients and collaborators, and to questions the site and project pose.
