Testing Grounds invites applications for the commercial hire of the site.
Commercial hire of the site is offered in return for a site levy, which directly funds creative programming of the site, including workshops and special art events (e.g. Art Parties).
Because Testing Grounds is an interdisciplinary art space first and foremost and our programming structure means the site is rarely if ever able to be booked in its entirety, the application process involves some negotiation between the hirer, Testing Grounds, and creative practice using the site.
The first step is to come down and walk through the site, or check out our Google 360 walkthrough, to make sure Testing Grounds is right for you. We can let you know the availability of the site, and if dates and times suit, we can begin negotiating site hire fees and logistics. Once you’re ready to go, fill out the application form below.
Consideration of any commercial application is based upon its impact upon the site, availability in fitting with the existing artistic program, as well as how it aligns with the ambitions of Testing Grounds, which can be understood by reading our Program Structure.
If your event is large in scale and requires help beyond the capacity of your organisation and Testing Grounds staff (e.g. for event management, security, or catering), we can put you in touch with excellent people who know the site and will make your event outstanding – just let us know what else you might need.
Check out the overview of the Testing Grounds facilities below, read through the frequently asked questions and conditions of commercial hire, and get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org for any further questions.
